Once you’ve created your perfect wedding day timeline using the Timeline Creator, simply click the “Download PDF” button to save a copy to your device. Then email that PDF to me at info@stylegracephoto.com
with your names in the subject line. I’ll review your timeline, make sure everything flows beautifully for photos, and add it to your Style & Grace wedding day portal so we’re all on the same page for your big day!
What is the Wedding Day Timeline Creator and how do I use it?
The Timeline Creator is an interactive tool that helps you build a customized photography timeline for your wedding day. You’ll enter your names, wedding date, ceremony time, reception start time, coverage start time, and a few preferences (like ceremony length and whether you’re doing a first look). The tool will automatically build a suggested timeline you can adjust, download as a PDF, and send to Style & Grace for review.
Do I have to know my exact ceremony and reception times?
Yes, to get the most accurate timeline you’ll need to know your ceremony start time and reception start time. The tool uses those to calculate when we should arrive, when portraits happen, and when key reception moments (like dinner, cake cutting, and toasts) should take place.
What if I’m not sure how long my ceremony will be?
In the creator, you can choose either a 30-minute or 60-minute ceremony.
Most traditional ceremonies are around 30 minutes.
Full Mass or more formal services are often closer to 60 minutes.
If you’re unsure, you can ask your officiant, or choose the option that feels closest and we can fine-tune it together later.
How does the “First Look” option affect my timeline?
When you select Yes for a first look, the timeline automatically builds in time before the ceremony for:
Your first look
Couple portraits
Bridal party photos (depending on ceremony length)
This helps free up more time after the ceremony so you can enjoy cocktail hour or relax while we capture fewer “must-have” groupings later in the day.
Why are there built-in buffers between events?
You’ll see small gaps between blocks (5–10 minutes). These are intentional! Buffers give you:
Breathing room to walk between locations
Time for bathroom breaks, touch-ups, or a quick snack
A cushion if things run a little behind
***They’re part of how we keep your day feeling calm instead of rushed.***
What are “Location Preference” fields for?
Some blocks (like Family Images, Bridal Party Images, and New Mr. & Mrs. Photos) have a Location Preference field. This is where you can note ideas like:
“Church steps”
“The Arch grounds”
“Venue garden”
***It doesn’t lock us into a spot, but it gives me a starting point for planning your portrait locations.***
Can I add my own events to the timeline?
Yes! At the bottom of the creator, there’s a section to add custom events with your own label, time, and length. This is perfect for things like:
Private vow reading
First look with Dad
Special cultural traditions
Exit photos or special moments you’ve planned
Can I move or remove blocks if they don’t fit my day?
You can drag to reorder blocks and delete any blocks that don’t apply to your day. The tool gives you a strong starting structure, but every wedding is unique. It’s completely okay to adjust it so it reflects and fits your celebration..
How do I send my finished timeline to Hannah?
Once you’re happy with your timeline, click “Download PDF” to save it to your device. Then email it to info@stylegracephoto.com with your names and wedding date in the subject line. I’ll review it, make any photography-specific tweaks, and add it to your Style & Grace wedding day portal.
What if my schedule changes after I’ve already made a timeline?
Life happens and details shift! You can come back to the Timeline Creator, update your times, and generate a fresh version. Then simply download and email the updated PDF so I can adjust your wedding day portal to match.
Does this timeline replace having our pre-wedding call?
Not at all. Think of the Timeline Creator as a planning tool and conversation starter. It helps you see how the day flows, but I’ll still personally review your timeline and make sure everything works for lighting, locations, and your photography priorities.
Key Notes About Sunset & Golden Hour
Our Timeline Creator automatically calculates the sunset time based on the exact wedding date you enter and the typical sunset time for that date in the St. Louis, MO area. Your Sunset / Golden Hour Portraits block is then placed about 30 minutes before sunset, giving us that soft, dreamy light you see throughout my portfolio. If your ceremony or reception time changes, simply update your date and times in the creator and regenerate your timeline so the sunset portraits adjust accordingly.
Key Notes About Your Timeline
Our Timeline Creator is meant to be a starting point and guide, not a rigid, one-size-fits-all schedule. Every wedding day is unique, and things like travel, family dynamics, and special traditions may mean we’ll need to tweak the suggested timeline. That’s completely normal. Use the generated timeline as a strong framework to see how the day can flow, then we’ll review it together and adjust as needed to make sure it fits you, your priorities, and your specific wedding day plans.
